Source: Danville Commercial News 30 January 1984- -Nellie P Stockdale, 83, Danville, Ill died at 4:55 a.m. s at Jan 28 at her home. She was the sister of Virgil Pyle of Veedersburg and Mrs. Jewell Grimes, Wallace. Born Jan 6, 1901 in Glasgow, Ky she was the daughter of James and Gillie Smith Pyle. She graduated from Wallace HS and married Goerge Arthur Stockdale who died in 1963. She was a housemother for Lakeview Nurses Dormitory from 1963 to 1976 and was a member of Scott Paririe Unit ed Methodist Church in Veedersburg and attended Lincoln Methodist Church and Farmers Chapel in Danville. Other survivors include two sons; Richard Stockdale of Tacoma WA; and Ronald Stockdale, Billings, Montana; a daughter, Marilyn Sue of Danville; another brother, W. Ernest Pyle of Mentone; and 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son. Services were conducted Tuesday at Pape Memorial Home in Danville with Rev. Charles B. Motsett oficiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park
